With a track record in delivering serious uplift in rankings for Bristol estate and letting agents, Hopewell, we were looking forward to bringing our expertise to bear for Zest, a Bath based estate agent. Five months in, and Zest has a new website with organic search traffic already up 60%.
We expect rankings and revenue to continue growing for this client, who we have quickly come to love working for.

Zest are an estate agents in Bath established in 2008, by Glen Perry, who runs it with his wife Beth. They have since achieved a Gold award at the British Property Awards, three years running, and been voted as Business of the Year by Best of Bath.
A lovely company who are a joy to work with, Zest is incredibly invested in their brand and in their ongoing digital marketing and search presence.
Zest were very interested from the outset in what we could achieve for them, especially in light of the results we’ve achieved for Bristol based letting agents, Hopewell.
This wasn’t going to be a small website design project and the site had to integrate seamlessly with Vibra Alto, Zests’ in-house property management software. Having used the fantastic Property Hive suite of plugins on previous projects this was our go to choice for Zests’ new website. It comes with a host of integrations, out-of-the-box, that connect to all of the most common property management and systems and marketing platforms, such as RightMove, Zoopla and On The Market.
In addition Zest required additional functionality, including an integration with Locrating, a tool that displays local amenities, sold prices, transport links and local school information such as catchment areas and Ofsted reports.
Zest has an increasing portfolio of student properties to let, so it was important to be able to display these on the website clearly. To that end we created a separate section of the website aimed at students and with distinct branding.
With the goal of also growing the website’s search presence across highly competitive property related keywords in Bath, there was a lot of work to do.
The website was a custom design and WordPress build, based on Property Hive’s standard framework, that gave us the code with all of the hooks that we needed to integrate with their property management system. Once this was done we then set about importing the data and testing the site to make sure everything was working as it should.
With Zest’s local SEO strategy baked into the web build at the foundational level, all the initial keyword research and on-page optimisation was complete, meaning we were able to start writing additional content to go up on the new site, during the build phase.
Along with building in some additional functionality and integrations, not least with Locarating, and the new student lets section, which was totally separate from the sales and other residential lettings side of the site, the whole project was completed and live in a little over 12 weeks.
As far as web projects go, Zest has been a dream from start to finish. With a clear direction and handle on their brand, we were able to take the brief and redesign the site within four weeks, ready to move onto the main build phase.
Along with a beautiful new website, with an improved interface, the real benefit to Zest will be from the ongoing promotion we’re now giving their site using organic SEO and Google Ads.
Whilst it’s early days, these results already speak for themselves: Between the new site launching in August 2022 and January 2023, we’ve already seen a 60% increase in organic traffic, compared with the previous six months.
As we continue to grow their search visibility across competitive keywords in Bath, we expect this to continue growing in 2023.
